I personally use Bootstrap a lot for my projects. As known Bootstrap removed vertical tabs with 3rd version. I think they were pretty handy. Especially for navigation inside a content.

So I have managed to use vertical tabs with some additions and made this project named, Bootstrap Vertical Tabs.

It’s very practical and pretty much like bs3 styled.

Usage

  • Download the latest css.
  • Include in your html.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="bootstrap.vertical-tabs.css">
  • Use it.
<div class="col-xs-3"> <!-- required for floating -->
    <!-- Nav tabs -->
    <ul class="nav nav-tabs tabs-left">
      <li class="active"><a href="#home" data-toggle="tab">Home</a></li>
      <li><a href="#profile" data-toggle="tab">Profile</a></li>
      <li><a href="#messages" data-toggle="tab">Messages</a></li>
      <li><a href="#settings" data-toggle="tab">Settings</a></li>
    </ul>
</div>

<div class="col-xs-9">
    <!-- Tab panes -->
    <div class="tab-content">
      <div class="tab-pane active" id="home">Home Tab.</div>
      <div class="tab-pane" id="profile">Profile Tab.</div>
      <div class="tab-pane" id="messages">Messages Tab.</div>
      <div class="tab-pane" id="settings">Settings Tab.</div>
    </div>
</div>
